Dr. Sarah Fogarty PhD
Sarah is a qualified pregnancy massage therapist who offers a warm, safe and supportive environment for treatment during pregnancy and the postnatal period. Sarah has clinical experience helping people manage the side effects and manifestation of stress, anxiety, depression, grief and pain. Sarah works with individuals who have experienced bereavement following miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal loss.
Sarah has a Masters degree in Acupuncture, a PhD in Acupuncture and Eating Disorders and a Diploma of Remedial Massage. Sarah takes a patient-centred, evidence-based approach to her clinical role. Sarah has a treatment philosophy of integrated care and believes in working together with other therapists and or medical professionals in achieving the best possible outcome for her clients.
Sarah is also a researcher and has published many papers in peer-reviewed journals including papers on the experience of eating disorders and pregnancy, the ethics of fertility massage, safety of massage during pregnancy, the use of acupuncture as an adjunct therapy in eating disorders and has conducted a systematic review on complementary therapies in eating disorders. Sarah is currently undertaking research on pelvic girdle pain in pregnancy.
Sarah started running her own business in 2000. Sarah Fogarty is a highly qualified and skilled remedial massage therapist and acupuncturist with over 20 years of experience. Sarah worked as an AFL team massage therapist for both Melbourne and Hawthorn collectively for 10 years as well as within prestigious sports medicine clinics in Melbourne.
